RESUME1 RESUME2 - AI RESUME3- AI

Prompt Engineering Reflection

For my alternate resumes, I used AI to help reframe my experiences for two different fields. The first prompt I used was: “Rewrite my resume so it fits business management or operations roles. Keep it professional, simple, and focused on leadership, project experience, and communication.” The second prompt was: “Create a version of my resume that focuses on automotive interests, project management, and hands-on experience with my Porsche 996.2 restoration. Make it sound professional but still true to me.”

The biggest changes were in how my skills and experiences were described. The business version focused on organization, leadership, and teamwork, while the automotive version highlighted problem-solving, mechanical interest, and project coordination. My volunteer work and travel experience were reframed in different ways depending on the audience.

Overall, I learned that tailoring content is mostly about knowing what the reader cares about. The experiences didn’t change, only the angle and wording did. Prompt engineering made it easy to shift the tone and focus by giving clear instructions, and it showed me how small changes in phrasing can make the same information fit completely different career paths.
